Finding Stillness Amidst the Noise
Matthew 11:28
It is easy to measure our worth by the length of our to-do lists or the number of tasks we conquer before the sun sets. As women, we often carry the mental load of home, work, and community, moving from one demand to the next until our spirits feel brittle. Yet, Jesus speaks directly into this hurried reality with an invitation that disrupts our busy patterns: "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest."
True rest is not merely the absence of activity, but the intentional act of shifting our focus from our own efforts to the sufficiency of God. When we stop trying to manage every outcome and instead lean into His sovereign grace, we find that our anxious hearts begin to settle. We do not need to earn a moment of peace; it is a gift waiting for us the moment we choose to stop and turn our gaze toward Him.
Today, I encourage you to set aside the internal pressure to perform. Even if your circumstances do not change immediately, you can choose to inhabit the stillness that only Christ provides. Take a deep breath, release the tension held in your shoulders, and remind yourself that you are sustained by His power, not your own. You are held, you are loved, and you are invited to rest in Him right here, right now.
