Unfolding Grace for Today
Lamentations 3:22-23
It is so easy to wake up and immediately feel the weight of a thousand tomorrows pressing down on our hearts. We look at our to-do lists, our strained relationships, or the uncertainty of our future, and we feel a deep exhaustion before the sun has even reached its peak. Yet, the prophet reminds us that it is through the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, for his compassions don't fail; they are new every morning. Great is his faithfulness. This is a promise that our survival is not dependent on our own stamina, but on a divine reservoir that resets with every sunrise.
When we try to carry the grace needed for next week, we inevitably buckle under the load. Grace is not a commodity that can be stockpiled; it is a living, breathing gift that meets us exactly where we stand right now. Whether you are navigating a quiet morning with coffee or a chaotic afternoon in a boardroom, God is providing a quiet stream of strength that is sufficient for just this hour. You do not need to have next month figured out, because the God who governs time has already prepared the way for you to walk through this day.
Take a deep breath and release the grip you have on your plans and your anxieties. Invite yourself into the stillness of the present, knowing that you are fully sustained by a Father who never runs out of kindness. His grace is not a distant concept; it is the very breath in your lungs and the steady pulse of your heart. Trust that when tomorrow arrives, it will come with its own portion of provision, and you will be just as equipped then as you are now to receive it.
