Breathing Through Your Anxieties
2 Timothy 1:7
It is so easy to let the mind run ahead, rehearsing scenarios that have not yet come to pass or dwelling on the 'what-ifs' that keep us awake at three in the morning. Today, I want you to acknowledge that fear often disguises itself as preparation or wisdom, when in truth, it is simply a thief stealing your peace. As women balancing work, family, and the quiet longings of our own hearts, we often feel we must carry the burden of certainty alone. But the Apostle Paul reminds us: 'For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.'
To let go of fear is not an act of ignoring your reality, but an act of relocating your trust. It is the brave decision to open your clenched fists and offer your worries up to the One who actually holds the threads of your life together. When you feel that tightness in your chest or the familiar flutter of panic, pause right where you are. Take a deep, intentional breath and remind yourself that your capacity to love and your self-control are anchored in God, not in your own ability to control the outcomes of your day.
Practice stillness today by naming one specific fear aloud and then deliberately handing it over. You do not need to be a woman who is never afraid; you only need to be a woman who knows who to turn to when the fear arrives. You are strengthened by a spirit that is far greater than your temporary circumstances, and you have the permission to set down the heavy bags you were never meant to carry alone.
