Finding Shelter in His Presence

Psalm 34:18

There are seasons in our lives when the floor drops out from beneath us. Whether you are navigating the quiet ache of loss, the sting of a betrayal, or the overwhelming fatigue of just trying to hold everything together, it is easy to feel as though you are walking alone. The world moves at a frantic pace, often leaving little room for us to acknowledge the fractures in our own hearts. Yet, the promise of Scripture remains a steady anchor: 'Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.'

Being near is not merely a geographic reality for God; it is a relational posture. He is not a distant observer of your tears, but a compassionate Father who draws closer when you are most undone. When your heart is broken, your defenses often come down, and in that state of vulnerability, the Lord meets you. He does not ask you to fix yourself before you approach Him; He simply invites you to sit in the stillness of His presence, where your exhaustion can finally be met by His restorative grace.

Take a moment today to breathe deeply and release the burden you have been carrying. You do not need to perform or pretend for Him. Simply acknowledging your need for His closeness is an act of profound trust. As you dwell in this stillness, let His peace wash over those jagged places in your soul. Remember that He is not just near to the whole or the happy, but specifically to those who are hurting. You are seen, you are held, and you are never beyond the reach of His healing love.
