What You Do With Your Tiredness

Isaiah 40:29

He Gives Power to the Faint

He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength. Isaiah places this promise in the middle of his great passage on God's sovereignty and care. Not to the strong. To the faint.

This is encouraging precisely because it means you do not have to arrive at God with your resources intact. You can come depleted. The strength is his to give, not yours to manufacture.

Receiving What You Cannot Generate

When you are tired in the deep way — when the reserves are genuinely low — the temptation is to push harder or to collapse. But there is a third way: to bring the tiredness honestly to God and to receive.

Today, if you are tired, say so. Not as complaint, but as truth. And then wait — even briefly — for what is given. It may not come as energy. It may come as the quiet sense of being held.
