Even in the Night

The psalmist writes: Even at night my heart instructs me. The night season — the times of difficulty, uncertainty, or simply the literal hours of sleeplessness — is not outside God's reach.

We tend to treat the night as waiting time, as the gap between useful days. But for many, the night has been where the most honest reckoning happens.

Receiving What the Night Brings

If you have nights that are restless or heavy, bring them into your prayer rather than fighting them. Sometimes what rises in the night is not anxiety — it is clarity. Something that needs attention, finally quiet enough to be heard.

Today, if there is something that has been rising in the night, give it some daylight attention. It may have something to tell you.
