What You Are Carrying Today

1 Peter 5:7

Casting Your Cares

Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. The word cast is active — a deliberate throwing. It is not automatic. It requires the decision to let go of what you are holding.

The reason given is simple: he cares for you. Not because you have your life together, not because you are performing well. Because he cares.

The Daily Practice of Releasing

This is not a one-time event. The anxieties accumulate again. We pick up what we put down. The practice is daily — perhaps multiple times a day.

Today, before you go any further, notice what you are carrying. The meeting you are dreading, the relationship that is unresolved, the fear about the future. Name each one. And then, deliberately, offer it. Not as a magic trick, but as an act of trust in someone who is more capable of holding it than you are.
