On Asking for Help
James 4:2
You Do Not Have, Because You Do Not Ask
James writes bluntly: You do not have, because you do not ask God. It is a simple observation about a common pattern. We go without. We manage on our own. We don't ask.
Sometimes this is pride. Sometimes it is the fear of being told no. Sometimes it is a theology that says God is too busy or our needs too small.
God Is Not Burdened by Your Needs
Jesus taught his disciples to ask. Daily bread, daily forgiveness, daily protection from temptation. The asking was built into the model.
Today, what do you actually need? Not what you think you should be able to manage without. What do you genuinely need? Bring that to God. It is not weakness to ask. It is what prayer is for.
