Friendships That Hold
Proverbs 17:17
A Friend at All Times
Proverbs says: A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. The emphasis is on consistency — not just in the good seasons, but in the difficult ones.
We learn who our friendships truly are when things get hard. When we are not interesting or fun, when we need something, when we are not at our best.
Tending What Is Given
Good friendships do not maintain themselves. They require showing up, asking honest questions, listening without an agenda, staying when it would be easier to withdraw.
If you have a friendship that has sustained you through difficulty, take a moment today to value it — and perhaps to reach toward it. Send the message. Make the call. Good friendships are not automatic. They are tended.
