On Beginning Again
Lamentations 3:22-23
On Beginning Again
There's a particular mercy in the morning light. It doesn't erase what came before—the mistakes, the missed moments, the places we fell short. But it does something quieter: it offers a clean page.
We live in a culture obsessed with fresh starts. New year, new you. New job, new house, new identity. But real beginning again isn't about erasure. It's about continuation with kinder eyes.
This is what makes grace so strange and so steady. It isn't a once-and-for-all transaction that happens at conversion and then fades. It's daily. Minute by minute. The invitation is always open to turn from distraction, from hurry, from the ways we've abandoned ourselves, and return.
To return is not to start from zero. It's to acknowledge that we're still here, still learning, still held.
The weight we carry—sometimes it's enough to simply name it, place it down for a moment, and ask: what needs my attention right now? Not everything. Just this.
Grace meets us where we are. Not where we think we should be.
