Rivers of Living Water

Rivers of Living Water

Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water. (John 7:38)

I love the image: not a contained pool, not a reservoir we hoard, but a river that flows. Living water — dynamic, moving, life-giving — flowing from within us to the world around us.

This requires that we remain connected to the source. A river doesn't generate its own water — it conducts what comes from upstream. My fruitfulness is directly related to my proximity to Jesus. When I stay close, something flows. When I drift, it stagnates.

Today I am drawing close. And trusting that what flows from that will reach whoever needs it.
