Letters Never Sent
Psalm 62:8
Letters Never Sent
I have a practice I have returned to recently: writing letters I never send. To people I have not been able to forgive. To younger versions of myself. To God, when prayer feels too formal and structured.
There is something about putting words on paper that makes the interior life legible — to myself, and in some way I don't fully understand, to God. The Psalms are essentially this: letters written out of overwhelming emotion, honest and unpolished, directed at the One who can hold them.
Writing is a spiritual practice for me. Not to perform, not to publish, but to process. Today I wrote a letter I will never send. And something loosened.
