The Gift of Weakness

2 Corinthians 12:10

The Gift of Weakness

I don't naturally like being weak. No one does. But I have come to see weakness differently through 2 Corinthians 12: it is not something to be ashamed of or hidden, but a place where God's power has room to operate.

When I am strong enough to handle everything myself, I rarely seek God. It is the limits — the inadequacy, the overwhelm, the I cannot do this — that drive me to genuine dependence. And in that dependence, something more than my own effort shows up.

My weakness is not a flaw in God's plan. It may be the very design that allows His strength to be displayed.
