Fruit That Lasts

Fruit That Lasts

Jesus says in John 15: You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide. Abiding fruit — fruit that lasts beyond the moment, the season, the applause.

I think about this when I'm tempted to optimize for what looks impressive. The metrics that matter most in the kingdom are not always visible. A patient conversation with a struggling friend. The faithful prayer no one sees. The integrity held in private. These bear lasting fruit.

Today I want to tend what endures rather than chase what merely impresses.
