The First Day of Spring

Romans 8:22-23

The First Day of Spring

Today is the first day of spring, and there is something deeply theological about it. The world that looked dead — bare branches, brown grass, silent mornings — is suddenly articulate again. Buds on the trees. Birds returning. The earth exhaling after a long hold.

Paul says creation itself groans, waiting for redemption. But it also blooms, cycles, renews — bearing witness to a God who specializes in resurrection. What looks like death rarely is. Endings are often just the language winter uses before spring arrives.

I am holding onto resurrection hope today. For things in my own life that look dormant — trusting that the God of spring is not finished.
