Salt and Light
Matthew 5:13-14
Salt and Light
Jesus says we are salt and light. Both are quietly transformative — they don't announce themselves dramatically, they simply do what they are. Salt preserves and flavors. Light illuminates without effort.
I think about this in my everyday life. Am I a preserving presence in my community? Do I add flavor — richness, depth, grace — to the spaces I inhabit? Does my presence illuminate anything, or do I absorb the darkness around me rather than push it back?
Being salt and light is not about being louder or more visible. It is about being authentically, consistently who we are in Christ — and trusting that who we are in Him is enough to make a difference.
