Enough
Philippians 4:11-12
Enough
Philippians 4:11 is a verse I have memorized but am still learning in the deepest sense: I have learned, in whatever state I am, to be content. Paul says he learned it — it was not natural, not effortless. It was a discipline acquired through experience.
Contentment is not the same as complacency. It doesn't mean I stop hoping or working or believing for change. It means I refuse to let my joy be hostage to my circumstances. I can be content in abundance and in need — because my foundation is not what I have, but Who I have.
I am still learning this. But today, I choose to say: it is enough. He is enough.
