When Comparison Steals Joy

Galatians 6:4

When Comparison Steals Joy

I caught myself comparing today. Someone else's season looked easier, more fruitful, more blessed — and for a moment I let myself slide into that familiar ache of why not me?

Comparison is a liar. It always shows you someone else's highlight reel against your behind-the-scenes footage. It is never a fair comparison, and it never ends in gratitude.

Galatians 6:4 says to test your own work, and then your reason to boast will be in yourself alone and not in your neighbor. The invitation is to stay in your own lane, tend your own garden, and trust that God's plan for you is not a lesser version of someone else's plan. It is yours — and it is good.
