The Interrupted Plan

This week did not go the way I planned. Things shifted, unexpected needs arose, and several things I had prepared for didn't happen at all. By midweek I was fighting frustration.

But I kept hearing Proverbs 16:9 in my spirit: A man's heart plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps. My plans are not the point. My steps are. And if the Lord is directing them — even through detours — then I can trust the direction even when I can't see the destination.

Interruptions are not failures of planning. Sometimes they are the plan. I want to hold my agenda loosely enough that God can reroute me without a fight.
