Praise as a Weapon

2 Chronicles 20:21

Praise as a Weapon

Yesterday was hard. I don't need to rehearse the details — suffice to say that by evening I had very little left. And yet, something in me knew that the worst thing I could do was go to bed rehearsing every difficulty.

So I praised. Not because I felt it. But because I know that praise shifts something in the spiritual atmosphere — and in my own soul. 2 Chronicles 20 tells of a battle won by singers walking ahead of the army. That is radical, almost foolish trust in God's power.

Today the sun is out and I feel lighter. I can't prove that the praise caused it. But I know that choosing to worship in the dark is never wasted.
