To the Woman Holding Her Breath
Finding steady ground when the path ahead disappears.
Dear sister, I know you are checking the horizon again, looking for a sign, a shift, or a clear instruction that never seems to arrive. It is exhausting, isn't it? This season of yours, suspended between what you know and what you cannot yet see, feels less like a waiting room and more like a cliff edge. I see how you try to keep your footing, how you pray for clarity, and how the silence of God feels heavy against your heart today.
But let us consider the way the dawn works. It does not announce itself with a blueprint; it simply begins to dissolve the dark, color by color, until the world is visible once more. You are not meant to see the entire landscape of your future; you are only meant to see the light of the present moment. In Proverbs 3, we are reminded to trust in the Lord with all our hearts rather than leaning on our own limited perception. To lean is to give your weight to something else. When your own understanding fails to provide the answers you crave, stop trying to make the ground solid with your own logic. Simply lean your full weight into His character instead.
He is not silent because He is indifferent; He is silent because He is sovereign. He is cultivating a depth in you that cannot be formed in the presence of easy answers. The uncertainty is not a wall; it is a space where your faith is learning to walk without the crutch of certainty. You are being shaped into a woman who knows that her security is not found in a finished plan, but in a faithful Father.
So, exhale. Let go of the need to manage the variables. When you feel the familiar ache of wanting to control the next step, whisper that simple prayer of surrender. He holds the unknown as surely as He holds the known. You are safe in the middle of this mystery, held by the One who has already walked every mile of your tomorrow. You are doing well, and you are not being forgotten.
