The Names of God
Jehovah Jireh — God who provides. I have known you in lean seasons, when the provision arrived strange and unexpected and just in time.
El Roi — God who sees. Hagar named you in the wilderness of her rejection. I have named you in my own unseen places.
Jehovah Shalom — God of peace. Not peace as the absence of storm but peace as a person, calm at the center of the raging thing.
Abba — Father. The word Jesus used in the garden, sweat and sorrow, still trusting.
So many names. Each one a face turned toward a different kind of need. Each one true. Each one, enough.
